Philanthropist, Mary Catherine Bunting, has donated $1 million to the Sisters Academy of Baltimore Endowment Fund. The public announcement occurred at the school’s annual Sponsor Appreciation Day – a special day to honor all of our scholarship sponsors who provide the financial support necessary to educate promising young women for leadership and greatness in their communities.

The September 2016 edition of The Daily Records’s Path to Excellence magazine featured an article on the role of middle schools preparing young women for college and careers. Sisters Academy of Baltimore is one of the three girls’schools highlighted in the article. Each of the schools has undertaken this life preparedness opportunity. Sisters Academy was featured on the op-ed page of the Baltimore Sun on April 15, 2015. The article was written by Rafael Alvarez, a local short-feature writer and author, who visited the site of his grammar school days and witnessed the transformation secret that happens daily at Sisters Academy.

 


Sisters Academy was the featured article in the biweekly “Review in the Pew” on September 6, 2014. In the article entitled “A model that works: Sisters Academy celebrates 10 years,” the Principal and the President share the secrets to success for our school. Sisters Academy appeared in a segment about American Sisters on CBS 60 Minutes on March 17, 2013. There are six Sisters serving Sisters Academy students in various capacities on our staff. The news feature was on the first segment of the program, and Sisters Academy was featured in the first couple of minutes of that segment. The story about American Sisters was repeated again on Sunday, July 28, 2013 – again as the first segment.
