A Legacy of Transformation

Our Mission

Sisters Academy of Baltimore is a tuition-free, independent Catholic middle school, grades 5 through 8, for girls who show academic promise. Founded in 2004 by four Congregations of Religious Sisters, it promotes education equity by closing the educational opportunity gap. Sisters Academy welcomes students of all races, ethnicities, and religions and encourages them to serve the common good and reflect God’s goodness through their thoughts, words, and deeds.

Our Vision

Guided by their missions and charisms, the four founding congregations—the School Sisters of Notre Dame, the Sisters of Bon Secours, the Sisters of Mercy, and the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur—continue to co-sponsor Sisters Academy as a place where every girl can learn to serve and transform society in accordance with God’s purpose for her life. The sisters remain an inspiration for the Academy’s values and mission, praying for each girl as she becomes part of their legacy.

Our Hallmarks

Sisters Academy of Baltimore embodies the core values, educational philosophy, and vision of our founding congregations through these distinctive characteristics:

  • An environment that supports each girl during the peak of her adolescence, a critical time for her academic, emotional, and spiritual development.
  • An educational model designed to eliminate financial barriers to private school education by providing scholarships to all students.
  • A longer school day and an extended academic year that support academic excellence and reduce learning loss.
  • A culturally diverse community that provides every girl with the essential skills to thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing world.
  • A commitment to supporting graduates through high school, college, and the start of their professional careers.
